The South Dakota CPA Society is a nonprofit, statewide professional organization for CPAs. Founded in 1917, the Society represents over 875 CPAs. The Society works to develop and maintain high professional standards in order to serve the public interest, and provides legislative, networking, information sharing, and referral services to its members.
The Society serves the needs of its members through many avenues:
sponsoring quality CPE courses
monitoring legislation and representing the profession in state, federal and regulatory issues
raising the profile of CPAs through public relations activities
recruiting qualified individuals into the profession through scholarships and communication efforts
offering community service opportunities
providing for the administration of the AICPA Peer Review program through another Society
providing leadership roles
offering access to various insurance plans and member benefit programs
providing services to CPAs in public accounting, industry, government and education
